The Apple Hardware

So, thats my way to the Apple hardware and in consequence the way to start becoming a developer for Apple software.

iPod

First there was the iPod. I bought my iPod Nano in 2007 with a few additional tools to use it while being outside running or cycling.

That package costs a bunch of money and compared to other players it was technically not the best equipped one. But holding it in my own hands and starting using it, that doesn't matter anymore. I think they did a really great job in designing the user interface or lets call it the user experience. It's usable without reading any handbooks or stuff like that, just by play testing it.

iPhone

On the brink of 2008 I have chosen to get an iPhone.

Well, I have already some little experience with Apple hardware so it was no surprise that the iPhone worked out so well. I don't want to sound like a evangelist here Winken but they did a really good job. So far its one of the best “smart phones” I ever had. A Straight forward user interface, very responsive and again can be learned just by play testing.

Mac mini

Okay, to make a long story short, after I visited the AppStore it was a necessity to get an Mac.

And before I'm starting to repeat myself, my experience with Apples hardware/software didn't change this time.

For the rather low level hardware compared to my Windows Vista PC the OS X is operating quite fast. It has all relevant tools for software development and additional stuff can be found on the web for free or open source. --Besides, I think both vendors (Microsoft and Apple) can't afford to dismiss any potential software developer by distributing only commercial software development tools. And even if its just from a marketing perspective--

Ohh, and I reached a point where my Logitech Keyboard sucks compared to my Mac one. Quite contrary the mouse.

Maybe I'm adding some pictures later for anyone who has not seen this stuff in reality so far Winken
